Halloween Episode of "The BATMAN" This Weekend on Boomerang!
This Sunday, October 31st, look for a fun episode of THE BATMAN with a Special Halloween holiday theme. It will be on the Boomerang Network at 11:30 pm ( Eastern Time, check your local listings ). The title of the show is "Grundy's Night," it's a fan-favorite from the 2nd season of the series. Just to be clear, I'd like to mention that this is the animated series that ran from 2004 to 2008, it's NOT "The Brave and The Bold". The basic plot is that Solomon Grundy rises from a swamp on Halloween to wreak havoc on Gotham City. Of course the Dark Knight is there to spoil his plans... sounds like a good time, check it out!
New BATMAN Product - MP3 Player Speaker Figure
Here is some news about a very unusual piece of Batman merchandise. It's a MP3 Player Speaker, in the shape of the Caped Crusader. Yes, this new "toy" is very strange...but I also think it's kinda cool. What do you think about it? For more information be sure to visit the website that sells it, just click HERE!
Original Movie Prop Design - Catwoman's Claws From BATMAN RETURNS Movie.
Check out this amazing photo! These are the original glove pieces for Michelle Pfeiffer's CATWOMAN costume from the 1992 BATMAN RETURNS movie, her "Claws". They were created by a Movie Prop Designer named Scott Schneider and I think it's really interesting to see these sort of things. Most of the time they are very well designed. Also, Scott has a website where you can see some of his other creations. Plus, there are also many more photos ( with great details ) of these Catwoman Gloves. You can get there by clicking HERE!
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is the Title of BATMAN Movie # 3
It's finally been revealed! The next BATMAN movie ( Sequel to The Dark Knight & movie #3 in the trilogy ) will be titled "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES". The Director Christopher Nolan was recently interviewed by the Los Angeles Times' HERO COMPLEX and besides getting the title to the next film we also got a little more information about the villain. Well, sort of. Christopher Nolan is extremely secretive about who the next villain will be but he did give a hint that it will NOT be the Riddler. He even confirmed that there will also be NO Mr. Freeze. As you can imagine this is driving everybody crazy & many are speculating either Hugo Strange or maybe the Black Mask. Another bit of news, good news I think, is that the next movie will not be filmed in 3D. So, who do YOU think will be the next villain? Please leave a comment here, or on our Facebook page, & let us know who you want to see.
BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!
Long time readers of the BAT-BLOG know that we post brand-new exclusive Batman Wallpapers every Wednesday. So, this week, I thought I would go with a few images that are totally random. The 1st one is pretty cool. It's just a very nice ( high resolution ) photo of the Tumbler Batmobile from the recent Batman films. Then, the next one sort of celebrates original comic book artwork. To make this awesome graphic I borrowed some art from Ty Templeton. I know a lot of Batman Fans will recognize his name because he drew "The Batman Adventures" back when that was one of the titles. This one shows the Penguin flying through the air & the thing, I think, that makes it interesing is that The Penguin is drawn in a vintage "Golden Age" style ( think "Dick Sprang" era ) & the Dark Knight is drawn in a more modern-day look. So, there is sort of an ironic juxtaposition thing going on here. Now, before I go I gotta ask, Do you like either of these?
SCARECROW - DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game
Here are some brand new images from the DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game showing one of Batman's scariest villains, The Scarecrow! The cool thing too is that you also get to see Batwoman & she looks awesome! Wow, this game just keeps looking better all the time.
Batman's POISON IVY Halloween Makeup ( Comic Book Version )
OK, since Halloween is right around the corner I thought we would post this costume make-up tutorial for some readers ( Yes, Women love this site too ). This video teaches you how to do POISON IVY "green face" make-up. It looks pretty good & would make an excellent Halloween costume.
Video - BATMAN Teams Up With BLACK ORCHID on The Brave and The Bold
Here's a leaked video clip from a future episode the BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD cartoon where Batman joins forces with Black Orchid. In it, we get to see them both fight the seductive Poison Ivy & her henchwomen...it looks pretty good!
BatDave Attacks The 1966 BATMOBILE Batman Car in New York City!!
Earlier this month ( October 2010 ) our good friend BATDAVE was lucky enough to go to the BIG APPLE COMIC CON in New York City. Here are just a few of the amazing photos he got of this very cool 1966 BATMOBILE Replica Car that was parked outside. Oh man, you know that people that day must have gone totally crazy, ha ha! The cool thing is that Dave got to actually sit in the car. Just look at the expression on his face, that explains everything! ( Dave - Thanks for sending these wonderful pics. Plus, I have never got to sit in this car yet ...so, I'm totally jealous, ha! )

BATMAN & HARLEY QUINN Original Comic Book Art By Josh Adams
Here are 2 totally amazing graphics sent in by our friend Josh Adams. The 1st one of our favorite Caped Crusader is completely colorized & appears to be done with a Gouache technique...nice.The 2nd one is more of a sketch & done in black & white. Of course it's Harley Quinn ( the Joker's Girlfriend ) & I really like the pin-up style, very cheesecake without being rude...MEOW! Hey, if you're digging Josh's artwork then please be sure to check out his website sometime, just click HERE!
BATMAN WITH VILLAINS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!
This week's Batman Wallpapers are sort of going with a theme here: "Something old, something new". For the "old" we have a vintage-style graphic that features Batman & The Penguin. This was originally used for a promotional event for the 1966 Batman TV Show. Now for the "new" I thought it would be cool to do something related to the BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video game since that is very modern day. It shows The Dark Knight & Harley Quinn with Gotham City in the background. Now, which one do you like the best? ( Hopefully both of them, ha! ) Also, please remember: The BAT-BLOG.COM posts FREE Batman Wallpaper Backgrounds every Wednesday so be sure to visit every week. We also have many more located in the BAT-ARCHIVES. You can find that on the far left-hand side of this blog, near the middle....have fun!
BATMAN ODYSSEY #4 Original Comic Book Art by Neal Adams & Scott Williams
Here are a few previews of the artwork you'll see in BATMAN ODYSSEY #4. The pencils ( on the left side ) are done by none other than the Master himself, Neal Adams! On the right, you can see the finished inks done by Scott Williams...beautiful stuff!! I think it's pretty interesting to compare the two different images because it gives you insight to how the art looks in two separate stages. The pencils done by Adams are almost so perfect that they could be printed without inking, ha! But, the inks by Williams are great too. Please be sure to click on these images for HUGE versions that are really sharp, it's the best way to enjoy them.
New BATMAN POP ART - Acrylic Paintings
This is just a quick post to show-off some really fun artwork from a friend named "Mike Destructive". We have featured his art here before at the Bat-Blog & thought it would be nice to see some fresh stuff. Here are 2 brand-new Pop Art Style Paintings he has done recently. I love the colors in both of them. They also feature "Batman" so you know we totally dig them...enjoy!
Pumpkin Town U.S.A. Does BATMAN and ROBIN Theme!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! These extremely fun photos are from our friend Chris, who lives in Illinois & every year they have what they call "Pumpkin Town U.S.A.", which is exhibited for a week around the city. The theme changes every year and for 2010 they chose to do "Heroes and Villains". Then, the local High School picked "Batman" as the theme for their display. Here are just a few examples! Check out this amazing creativity, I totally love this! They have made scarecrows of the Caped Crusader, Robin, the Batmobile ( ha ha ), The Joker ( both the comic book version & Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight movie ), & Two-Face!! Well, they have not made the complete costume for Two-Face yet but they have made the pumpkin head for him & you can already tell it's gonna be very cool. I love the photo where Batman and Robin are working out on the weight bench & Batman is spotting Robin, hilarious!! Also, the Batmobile ( Riding Lawnmower ) is great stuff!! I wanna thank Chris for sharing this wonderful story with us & taking the great pics....this is fun! Plus, This is just in time to wake-up the Halloween spirit!!
Rick's Totally Insane BATMAN THEME Tattoo Artwork!!
Check out these wonderful photos sent in to the Bat-Blog by an extremely serious Batman Fan named Rick. I mean, this guy totally loves the character! To prove it he has had a ton of tattoo work done all over his body. The artwork is very well done & covers many different themes of the character. You have different comic book logos, many different villains ( The Joker, Penguin, & Riddler ), a few variations of Batman himself, the GCPD (Gotham City Police Department) Blimp, The Joker Card, & even a "POW! & BAM!" from the 1966 TV Show! WOW! I wanna thank Rick for both sending in these great pics & for being such an awesome fan...that's cool! Now a question for our readers, Do YOU have any bat-tats? Well, if so, then please shoot us some pics, thanks.
BATMAN - THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD MATCHBOX CARS 5-Pack Gift Set
Here's a brand-new Batman Toy to look out for on your next trip to Target. Here's the MATCHBOX CAR 5-Pack Gift Set with a BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD TV cartoon theme. The cars & trucks all feature Gorilla Grodd, Green Arrow, Batman, & Joker graphics. Yes, my favorite one is the purple car with the Joker on it. But actually, they're all pretty neat. This set retails for about $8.99, not a bad price. ( Thanks to Batmobilly for sending the photo ).
BATMAN PHONE CARDS - Reference Photos
Here at the Bat-Blog we're always trying to cover all the many different aspects of the Batman character but one main focus is on the joys of being a Bat-Collector. We also have a lot of great people who contribute wonderful material. This is a perfect example. Here are some photos sent in by our good friend, the BATFAN. He has a major collection of Batman Phone Cards he wanted to share. This is just a small portion of his full collection but these pics give you a great idea of what is out there ( Click on the pics for larger versions ). Phone Cards are really not that popular in the USA but in many foreign countries they're a VERY BIG deal. Our friend has got these from all over the globe: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, England, Canada, etc... I have always known of these things existing but never knew how many different ones there were. So, it's pretty cool to see these. My personal favorite ones are the "Batman: The Animated Series" Sets & the ones with the 1966 TV Show Actors ( Like Adam West, Julie Newmar, & Yvonne Craig ). The one with Adam West using the Red Bat-Phone is PERFECT! It's also cool to see the ones featuring the 1989 Tim Burton movie. I wanna thank BATFAN for taking the time to take these wonderful reference photos, they're GREAT! Do you have a large collection of a certain niche? Please send us some pics, thanks.
1966 BATMAN & BATMAN BEYOND is on the HUB TV Channel!
Here's a friendly reminder. The Classic 1966 BATMAN TV Show & the animated BATMAN BEYOND Cartoon are now both playing on the HUB. The HUB is now what used to be called the "Discovery Kids" channel. Unfortunately I don't get this on my version of cable, bummer...I'm extremely jealous, JEALOUS!!! But if you can watch it then you're in for a real treat. Please be sure to check your local listings for times & dates. Yes, I'm still jealous.
