Batman is a fictional super hero in comic books, television series, cartoon serie, films and games. In the original story, the secret identity of Batman is the american millionaire Bruca Wayne who lives in Gotham City. When he was a child he saw criminals kill his parents, and because of that he swore revenge on crime, and created Batman. Batman has some supporting characters, like his partner Robin, his butler Alfred, and later Batgirl. Together they fight against bad people like The Penguin, The Joker, Two-Face and Catwoman.

OK, if you're hitting the Comic Book Shop today then you need to keep an eye out for this baby! This is the cover to the "DC Retroactive 1970's BATMAN #1" One-Shot. You see, these are the comic books I grew-up with & it's just nice to see them again. Of course back then they only cost 25 cents, "Holy Inflation, Batman!" Hey Boys and Girls, it's time again for "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday"! This is when the BAT-BLOG.COM posts a few BATMAN WALLPAPERS for your viewing pleasure. Please be sure to share them with all your friends!!

Now, the 1st one was made using a high-resolution photo of a Vintage 1940's BATMAN SERIAL Movie Poster. I'm totally loving the "Golden Age" style! The 2nd one was created by a 3-D Computer Artist who was inspired by the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. So, I guess both of these are sort of retro!

BATMAN As Drawn by Charles M. Schulz, PEANUTS Cartoonist

Here's a very special photo that I actually stole from a friend's website, ha! I mean, it was just way too cool NOT to steal, ha! Our friend, Marc Nobleman, is writing an extensive Biography on BILL FINGER, the Golden Age Comic Book Writer who helped co-create BATMAN. Finger has never got any credit & is sort of an unsung hero among serious Batman Fans & People who love comics. The book won't be out until next year and we're dying to read it!

OK, about the photo. Marc has been traveling all over the United States interviewing every single person he can find who knew or worked with Bill Finger. One guy is Carmine Infantino. Yes, the Legendary DC Comics Editor, Writer, & Artist! Marc went to his house! While there, he took a visit to the restroom & what did he see? In Infantino's Bathroom there is a framed signed drawing of Batman sleeping on Snoopy's Dog House... drawn by Charles M. Schulz himself!! Oh man, what a piece of Bat-History! This has gotta be the ONLY example of the Dark Knight drawn by this Iconic Cartoonist!!

Junior BatSquad's 1966 BATCOPTER ADVENTURE at the New Jersey State Fair!

Bat-Blog Fans might remember reading about the 1966 BATCOPTER being at the New Jersey State Fair last month ( June 24th to July 10th ). If you went there you could actually ride in this Classic Bat-Vehicle for a small fee ( worth every penny ). Well, our Buddy BatDave took his two nieces and his Girlfriend's youngest nephew to the event. Yes, these lucky kids got to see the Original 1966 Batcopter!! For people unfamiliar with this vehicle, this is the real-life prop used in the 60's BATMAN Movie. It is now owned by a Pilot named Captain Gene Nock. He has totally restored the thing & takes it to State Fairs for people to ride.

Now, check out these fun photos. The 1st one is shows all the kids as they got there & they're standing next to the sign for the attraction. the great thing about this pic, if you look, you can see the Batcopter flying in the air. Wow! What a great shot! the next one shows BatDave taking his ride. I'm not sure if they're taking off or landing but it must have been totally exciting!

OK, I gotta explain the last 2 photos & they're really special to me. The Pilot, Captain Gene Nock, said he had seen the post we did here at the Bat-Blog & to show his appreciate he wanted BatDave to give me this Autographed Photo. The 1st pic shows him signing it & then there's the actual signed photo... AWESOME!! That is really cool. What a nice guy! ( Thanks to BatDave & The Junior BatSquad for sharing their adventure & also a thanks for getting me this photo, what a treat! )

BATMAN FAN PHOTO - Gene Meets The Riddler ( Frank Gorshin )

Here's a totally cool personal photo sent in to the Bat-Blog. It shows our friend Gene when he got to meet Frank Gorshin, Live in Person, at the Chiller Theatre Convention back in 1999. He said he was extremely gracious & a very nice guy, very down to earth. Actually, this is the only thing I have ever heard about him, that he was just a really great guy to be around. As a little kid I always loved him as the Riddler on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. It's so cool that he was such a good person too. RIP Mr. Gorshin, you are missed. ( Gene, Thank You very much For Sharing Your Wonderful Photo ).

As you can see he has had many different characters done. Most of them are in "The Animated Series" TV Cartoon Style. There's The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Batman, & a few more. He even got a 70's style Bat-Logo on the top of his hand. Cool! ( Thanks for sharing these Ryan, they're great & sorry it took so long to get them posted ).

Now, we don't have a copy of this thing yet, nobody does. But we'll be posting it as soon as it's available, please stay tuned. But, in the mean time, one cool thing is that it totally inspired an Artist named Scott McMahon ( aka Scoot ) who lives in Rossford, Ohio. Scoot drew this black and white drawing of BATMAN in honor of "The Dark Knight Rises" Movie... it looks pretty cool, check it out! ( Thanks Scoot )

eBay Find of The Week - BATMAN 1966 TV Show ADAM WEST & BURT WARD Autographed Photo

I thought I would experiment with a new idea of, each week, posting a cool Batman item I come across on eBay, that is still for sale. Now, this is NOT an invitation for eBay Slaves to spam me with what they're selling, ha! ( That's not gonna happen! ) I'll just find something fun & post it on my own. This item is pretty cool. Here's a Framed Color Photo of Batman and Robin from the Classic 1960's TV Series. It's signed by both Actors from the BATMAN TV Show, Adam West & Burt Ward. Proof That BATMAN is Cooler Than Other Superheroes

I really don't care about "Celebrity News", it's shallow & lame. But I came across this paparazzi photo the other day that's kinda cool. It shows the Actor Robert Downey Jr ( Ironman & Sherlock Holmes ) walking down the street with his Son. The funny thing is his Son, Indio, is wearing a Batman T-Shirt AND Bat-Symbol Logo Belt Buckle, ha! Yes, it appears he's more of a Batman Fan than one of Ironman!

BATMAN Humor Video - LAW & ORDER: GOTHAM CITY

"In Gotham City's war on crime, the worst criminal offenders are pursued by the Detectives of the Major Crimes Unit, with the aid of a Masked Vigilante known as 'The Batman'. These are their stories..."

Book Promo Video - THE BOY WHO LOVED BATMAN by Michael Uslan

The Publisher, Chronicle Books, has just released this cool new BOOK PROMO VIDEO to start early hype for "THE BOY WHO LOVED BATMAN". BATMAN'S BIGGEST SECRET

"Batman's Biggest Secret is NOT Bruce Wayne...", reads the front of this brand-new Promo T-Shirt. The back says, "Put Your Finger on it, July 2012, NOBLEMANIA". OK, This post is sort of mysterious but here's the deal. There's a Book Author named Marc Tyler Nobleman who is in the very very early stages of promoting his next book ( The actual release date is almost a year from now, July 1st, 2012 ). You might know him as the guy who wrote "Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman". Well, his next major book will be all about the uncredited Batman Co-Creator, Bill Finger. Serious Batman Fans know who this guy is because his story of how he never got any credit for helping create the greatest comic book superhero in history is legendary. But the unusual thing is that he was so "hidden" that even serious Fans don't know much about him. Well, hopefully that's gonna change after the book comes out. Basically it's going to be a very serious Biography about Mr. Finger & his contributions to the Comic Book genre, especially the Dark Knight character. I've been following the creation of this book for awhile now & the attention to details, & the interviews with other Artists/Writers, is extremely meticulous. I'm predicting it's gonna be a really great book.

OK, to get back to the T-Shirt. The shirt you see up above was created as a promotional Tool for the next 2011 Comic Con. Marc is set-up to do a lecture & panel discussion at that event for the "Bill Finger" Book. We're hoping a few people buy the shirt & wear it to the event. It's designed in such a way that it's sort of "vague", & then if somebody asks what the shirt is about then you can get into a dialogue about the "Finger Book". So, if you wanna support this great project then please be sure to visit SKREENED where you can buy this shirt.

Now, please keep in mind that the shirt is sold in TWO ways: 1. You can get a shirt that is screened with both designs on the front & back, Or 2. You can get a shirt that has JUST the "front" design with nothing on the back. Either way it's a great item! Seriously, all your friends will be super-jealous, JEALOUS!

NEW BATMAN MOVIE BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

For this week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wedneday" I thought we could celebrate some of the BATMAN Movies. The 1st one is an iconic image from the 1966 BATMAN Movie with Adam West ( "Some Days You Just Can't Get Rid of a Bomb!" ). The next background, of course, is the just-released "Teaser Poster" for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES movie. We can't wait to see this new film & the image of Gotham City crumbling is cool!

Alberto's Beautiful BATMAN BAT-LOGO Birthday Cake!

The Bat-Blog has a good friend in Mexico who was kind enough to send us this beautiful photo of an extremely AWESOME Batman Birthday Cake! His name is Alberto & he just had a party recently ( ¡Feliz CumpleaƱos Alberto! ). He said the cake's gray icing was made to look like stone or granite & that it doesn't really show-up in the pic, probably because of the camera flash, but it looked very very cool! But I gotta say that this Birthday Bat-Cake is ART. Thanks for sharing your personal photo Alberto & I want to invite ALL Bat-Blog Fans to do the same.
